Signed and dated "Charles Banks Wilson 92" at lower right. A charming lithograph of a nude female taking a bath at a fresh water spring - her hat, shoes, and clothing strewn over a log to the left, while two bovines watch her from the distant right of the composition. A painter, muralist, and printmaker, Wilson had an illustrious career. He attended the Art Institute of Chicago and painted life-size portraits of linguist Sequoyah (Cherokee, d. 1843), humorist/actor Will Rogers (Cherokee, 1879-1935), and Olympic gold medalist Jim Thorpe (Sac and Fox Nation and Irish heritage, 1887-1953). In 1976, Wilson completed a mural series for the Capitol building of Oklahoma. In addition, from 1979 to 1982, he created a series of portraits that represented every American Indian nation or tribe of the state of Oklahoma.
