Qing Dynasty, Qianlong or Jiaqing Period
The cylindrical form inlaid with semi-precious stones including: mother-of-pearl, coral, malachite, soapstone, turquoise and lapis-lazuli, to depict a long gnarled bough bearing prunus in various stages of bloom, entwined with camellia branches. The ground is further detailed with lingzhi and orchid leaves emerging from rocks.

Note: An almost identical inlaid Huanghuali brush pot sold at Christie's Important Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art auction on Dec 1, 2015, Lot 3143
Condition: Several losses to inlay. Age appropriate abrasion to inlay and huanghuali.
