Description
Walt Disney's Treasury: 21 Best-Loved Stories Dumbo Pages 100, 108, 115 Illustrations Original Art Group of 4 (Walt Disney, 1953). This much-loved book of Disney stories has a large section devoted to Dumbo, the studio's brilliant 1941 animated feature. Titled "Dumbo of the Circus," this tale takes up a full 21 pages. Here are four original illustrations used in the story. The largest of these features three of the Crows, laughing after Dumbo lands in a mud puddle while Timothy tries to teach him to fly. It has an image size of 8" x 6.5", and can be seen in the book on page 115. The story's first illustration, on page 100, features Mrs. Jumbo, watching hopefully as a number of bundles are dropped by the storks (but nothing for her). This one has an image size of 8" x 4". Two small spot illustrations are found on page 108, one of Timothy (image size 3.75" x 2") and one of Dumbo (image size 3.5" x 3"). All four are in ink, gray wash, and white paint on paper, all with light glue residue on back. Color prints of the book's front cover and table of contents pages are included for reference. Overall condition is Very Good, with minor handling and paper toning. HID03101062020 © 2020 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
