Pinocchio Board Game Box Cover Original Art (Walt Disney/Whitman, 1962). This Whitman boxed board game featuring Pinocchio is a tough find on its own, but this is something much tougher to find – the unique, original painted artwork to the game's box! Against an orange "wood grain" background is a large image of Pinocchio's smiling face, with an approximate image size of 6" x 5.75", and a tiny image of his guide and "conscience," Jiminy Cricket, measuring 1" x 2.75". The art is painted in gouache on Bristol board measuring 19" x 11.75", and loosely pasted onto a larger illustration board backer, measuring 25" x 16". An acetate overlay includes that pasted-on photo-type lettering for the front and sides of the upper box lid. Condition is Good/Very Good, with the painted area attractive and largely problem-free.
