Ernie Banks (1931-2015) Shortstop. Banks starred for the Chicago Cubs from 1953 to 1971. An 11-time All-Star, Banks was named the National Leagues (NL) Most Valuable Player for two consecutive seasons (1958-59). He hit more than 40 home runs in five different seasons, leading the NL in that category in 1958 and 1960.
