Up for auction is unique French made Yema chronograph watch.
Protected by a heft domed acrylic crystal the immaculate white dial with 3 sub registers looks stunning. The added pop is provided by gold markers and handset. The watch also has a beveled tachymeter scale that sits on the outer perimeter of the dial, the domed crystal acting as a loupe to facilitate readings.
The 38mm case is all gold plated and in excellent condition with zero signs of brazing. The case back portion is stainless steel. With center portion of the case has a very “bombe†styling while the elegant curved lugs wrap around the wrist comfortably. Unusual is that the crown is placed on the bottom left hand side of the case.
Powering this beautiful watch we have the fabled Seiko 7a28. The Seiko 7A28 is a series of watches that introduced the first analogue display quartz chronograph movement to the world. Seiko launched the series in the early 1980s, and the movement went on to appear in many notable watches.
It consists of 42 variations, including models issued to the military and those used in movies, when placed in yema watches it was renamed V905 Shimauchi.
