William F. Buckley, Jr. (1925-2008) Author, commentator. Buckley founded National Review, a magazine that stimulated the conservative movement in the late-20th century United States. He hosted 1,429 episodes of the public affairs television show Firing Line (1966–1999), the longest-running public affairs show in American television history. His book, The Headhunter, Little, Brown and Company, 1999, first edition, signed in red ink on his bookplate affixed to the first blank page “ For Newman Peabody & Midge Good wishes Bill.” The dust jacket is very good.
