Vintage 10kt Clear Aquamarine Engagement Ring, .50 ctw, size 7.25 and 2.05 grams in weight. This has a large 5.3mm rund stone that is also appx. 3.7mm in depth. It is a clear stone, good cut and if it were a diamond the color would be appx. H/I. The stone is clear, the facets not worn. The girdle is even and a medium cut. The stone is a bit of a puzzler as it tests as aqua but at first look it is clear however as I was looking through the loupe it kept showing light blue color. It picks up the colors in the surrounds but it appears only greens and blues make it reflect a pale blue. You can see it without the loupe in certain settings too. Clear or white aquamarines are not the most desired in aquas because the true aqua color is what gives it the best value but it is still a great engagement ring at a fantastic buy. To the outside world, it looks like a half carat diamond. The ring is signed SA. The stone is set with six prongs - also something done more in quality rings than cheap discount rings. The band is thicker toward to top of the ring and the stone sits up 7.7mm from the base of the band at the top of the finger. The band is 2.2mm thick at the top of the finger and goes down to .8mm thick at the back of the finger. The band is 2.5mm wide and 1.4mm at the back of the finger. Age is appx. mid-century to 1960's at best estimation. The ring is very nice and is being offered at a starting very reasonable price too. I purchased quite a few diamonds and other pieces at an estate auction and they are being priced to move especially with Valentine's Day around the corner. I'm starting them in auction at a very reasonable price. it's a ring on a budget. Your jeweler can resize this ring if you need it to be a different size.
