Up for sale from a recent consignor in Honolulu Hawaii, this 1780s English Hawaiian framed black and white engraving that is titled "Tereoboo, King of Owhyee, Bringing Presents to Capt. Cook," and was created by the well known Captain James Cook accompanying artist John Webber. The condition is described above for more information please check the photos. This is one of a large group of prints that was consigned with us from the collection of a well known business in Honolulu. The pieces were hanging in a air-conditioned environment out of direct sunlight since the 1970s. They were consigned with us due to a redesigning of the office space. The values were established via the Senior Fine Arts appraiser in Honolulu in a recent appraisal and reflect the current fair market value.

“The print and frame are overall in acceptable/poor condition, the print has not been inspected out of the frame, the frame is coming apart on one corner and there is a loss to the surface of the wooden frame (that is not showing in the photos), the paper with dark toning, the glass is stained on the inside and it would be a good idea to have the frame opened up and clean the inside of the glass, the back of the print is coming apart so before hanging it it will have to go to a framer for a fix up, the print can be mailed without the frame at a lower cost”
