Description
Crudely manufactured with iron lock and barrel with brass furniture. Flint lock with swan neck cock with what appears to be a cog washer. Wood has checkered wrist. Saddle ring on sideplate. Wrist has escutcheon with red glass jewel. Light engraving on lock. Most likely made as a tourist piece in the bazaars. Ramrod channel is vacant, and ferrule is crushed. CONDITION: Poor. Barrel has a mottled patina that extends to lock. Cock possibly a replacement. Wood with numerous bumps, chips and cracks. Notable crack running vertically through ramrod channel. Action is loose and does not hold on full cock, but does hold on half. Bore is good with oxidation throughout.
