Description

A SILVER NIELLO MOUNTED CAUCASIAN SNAPHAUNCE BLUNDERBUSS, 9.75inch barrel chiselled with a foliate sighting rib, the flared muzzle mounted with a silver niello band decorated with a panel of scrolling foliage, the barrel tang mounted ensuite, the lock with traces of gilt decoration and protective leather shroud to the tail, full stocked inlaid with geometric designs in mother-o'-pearl and bone, pierced silver sling swivel mount stamped with a mark indicating a silver content of 84 and dated 1870, saddle bar and ring mounted on the left side, button trigger.
