19th c. British Navy Black Velour Bicorn Hat, with gold bullion tassels, "J.H. Carter" stamped on interior band, in a black painted metal case with top handle, fold over latch (no lock) and brass side plaque, base marked "J.H. Carter", hat: 6 1/2" high, 17 1/2" x 6 3/4", case: 9 1/2" high (with handle extended), 19" x 8". Hat wear, velour losses, one gold tassel off (but present), paint losses and abrasions to case exterior.
