Engraved document filled out in ink, indentured in left margin. 35.5x34 cm (14x13½").

Rare certificate for an insurance policy with the "Compañia General Cubana Para el Seguro Mutuo de los Valores de los Exclavos". The slave on which the insurance is held, whose name is difficult to decipher, is a Negro from Congo, with description of his hair, eyes, nose, mouth, etc.

Condition

Old folds, some discoloration along them, 3" crease tear with a few holes along it, some other minor wear; good to very good.
