Description
The lot features a unique set of war shirt or warrior shirt, fully beaded panel remnants over hide and trade canvas, believed to date to circa 1890-1900 from the Plains Native American Indians. The set has an unusual bead color collection and geometric pattern, which could date the set to a later date. The piece displays trade sinew on a heavy canvas with beaded hide ties and ends. The beads include orange (for the background), white, cobalt, green, and faceted red. The set shows some bead loss and open threads. Overall, each measures 18”L by 4”W with additional 6”L and 7”L ties.
