Newcomb College Art Pottery
rare, high-glaze bowl, 1903, decorated by Esther Huger Elliot, incised with stylized irises, cross-section plant designs and vertical bands in underglazes of blue, base marked with Newcomb cipher, decorator's mark, Joseph Meyer potter's mark, reg. no. "II18" and "W" for white clay body.

Condition
There is a small vertical hairline/age crack to the rim and a few firing anomalies: stilt/kiln maks to bottom, and a small indentation and speck of grit to rim. There is a small scratch to the foot rim. Fine crazing to glaze is present throughout. In overall good condition.
