Description

Pair of Large Italian Parcel-Giltwood Mirrored Brackets

fourth quarter 19th century, the serpentine shelves supported by enameled cattails and oval mirrored backplates with giltwood bamboo surrounds, the crests depicting giltwood birds perched in enameled plaster cattails.
h. 32", w. 14-1/2", d. 7"

Condition

One of the brackets is lacking two foliage tips/ends on the right side of its crest. Both brackets have several shrinkage cracks and/or repairs (glue, painted "touch-ups") to foliate elements. Neither bracket was examined off the gallery wall, to which they are screwed down.
