Description
Late 19th-early 20th century, softwood. Gold cannonball finial, red painted turnings and black and white striped pole and square base. Appears to be second coat of paint. Age splits, paint loss and wear. 80"h. 8"sq.base. From the Collection of Maxine and Dave Tronnes, Mitchell, South Dakota.
Condition
03-18-21 Heavily weathered with flaking, wear and loss both to paint and some surface. Age splits. A few areas of the pole look like there are old staples, possibly to stabilize a knot hole or split. In one area on bottom half there is a faint stain of red under a black stripe.
