George III Mahogany Chest

In good polished and restored condition with shrinkage, mars and normal indications of age and use. Most blemishes beneath the newer finish lending some patina. The case is sturdy and solid with no movement in the glue joints of the case observed. There is a veneer loss along the back edge of the top, about 3/8" wide by 2" long. There are a number of nicks to the cock-beading on the perimeter of the top drawer, visible in the catalogue photo, and one shallow splinter loss to that beading. Vertical shrinkage cracks on both sides of the case; on one side it is about 9" long, the other runs the height of the case. Locks present; no key.
