Description
Anglo-Indian, late 19th / early 20th century. Coromandel or calamander, mixed wood and bone inlaid sewing or work box having a fluted case, lid decorated with an elephant and interior fitted with multiple trays and compartments. Unmarked. Approx. h. 7", w. 18.25", d. 13". Provenance: From the Estate of Richard D. and Gail M. Royston of Atlanta, Georgia.
Condition
Repaired (stable) crack to lid; previous repairs and some cracks to bone; rod for thread not present; not all supports for lids present; key not present; wear commensurate with age and use.
