Unusual Mid-19th Century Portrait Miniature of The Princess Royal Painted on Marble. Painted as a half length view of Queen Victoria in her wedding dress with the following modifications: she is wearing long, drop earrings; her necklace is absent; her floral garlands in dress and hair have been replaced by blue ribbons. She wears bracelets and bangles at her wrists. Her eyes are brown. Not marked. The piece of marble may be from India. {7 1/2 x 5 3/8 sight. 11 1/2 x 9 1/2 framed}. The likeness of Queen Victoria is notable, although she is stripped of all jewels but her earrings and bangles. Her floral garlands, in hair and at shoulders to waist, have been replaced by blue ribbons.
