A Chinese Song Dynasty Longquan Yao gu vase. Having a wide flared mouth and cylindrical body atop a flared base with round waist and bulged divisions in pale green glaze throughout. Stands approx. 8.25" high (20.9cm). Provenance: Professor Wu Jilu's Chinese porcelain collection of Sung & Ming Dynasty ceramics. Prof. Wu Jilu was a professor in Chinese Literature and an avid collector of Chinese porcelain antiques, especially those with strong Sung Dynasty style & flavor. He owned a collection of over 100 items from China’s Sung, Yuan, Ming, and Qing Dynasties. He had purchased most of those collections from various antiques shops and small auction houses across the world over the past 25 years. Some of his antique collections were auctioned by major auction houses, such as Sotheby’s and China’s Guardian Auction in Hong Kong. Holds a 1966 Ceramic Association label to base.
