A cookbook from a grand-grandmother's shelf. This cookbook, considered classic in the 1940s, is based on nutrition studies conducted during the WW2, and rational healthy cooking of the wartime. In any case, cooking was a serious business in the 1940s, during and post-World War II years of the 1940s. Homemakers worked hard to stretch family meals, particularly meat, which was not as plentiful. Therefore, creativity was a major part of cooking.
