This lot consists of an unframed screenprint on paper, done in the style of Shepard Fairey (American, 1970 - ). Image depicts a raised fist and the words, "Prophets of Rage". This is a promotional poster for a musical group of the same moniker. Says Fairey on his website, "When Tom Morello [of Rage Against the Machine] reached out to me about Prophets of Rage, a collaboration with members of Rage Against the Machine, Chuck D from Public Enemy and B-Real of Cypress Hill, I was incredibly excited. " This poster is hand signed and dated. Overall dimensions approximately 29" x 18".
Shepard Fairey (American, 1970 - ) is a muralist and street artist from Charleston, South Carolina who now lives and works in Los Angeles, California. Fairey is well known for his graphic design work, including his OBEY Clothing brand and the iconic 2008 poster of Barack Obama featuring the word "Hope".
