An Extensive Chinese Export Porcelain Famille Rose Dinner Service
Likely for the Brazilian market, circa 1800
Each piece decorated with a small basket of flowers and a border of grape ivy with gilt rim; comprising twenty-nine dinner plates; twenty-one salad plates; seventeen soup plates; seven graduated oval platters of four sizes; two trencher salts; one each oval covered soup tureen, oval covered sauce tureen, large vegetable dish with two lids, small rectangular vegetable dish with two lids, and sauce boat and underplate; all unmarked. (approx. 84).

Condition
Generally good condition, all with light rubbing and gilt loss to edges and wells from use and stacking, some plates with heavier total giltloss in areas (see condition photos). Each with very faint ghost of monogram, originally gilt and later removed, above each floral basket. One soup plate with small chip at rim. Four dinner plates with restoration to rim, four dinner plates with more substantial cracks/restorations. Two breadplates with restoration to rim, two with more substantial cracks/restorations, one with small chip at rim.
