Mezcala Shaman Cone Ancestor Figure (300 BC-500 AD)
This large example of a Mezcala Shaman figure, carved in white quartz, has a shamans cone above a two tiered cap representing the Mezcala temple. The pronounced brow juts out over a central ridge, which terminates with a notch that forms the mouth and nose. Simple round hollows for inlay represent the eyes.
