A large scale model of the Flying Fish Clipper ship, the original built by Donald McKay, famous for his clipper ships, it was 1505 tons OM. She was launched at East Boston, Massachusetts in 1851, for Messrs. Sampson & Tappan, Boston. She sailed from New York to San Francisco in 92 days - only three days short of the record set by her sister ship, the Flying Cloud. She wrecked on the 23rd of November 1958 off Fuzhou, China, the accurate scale model with an ebonized water line, and accurate deck and rigging, rising on a custom fitted case and stand, model 36"h x 53"w, overall 70"h x 61"w x 20"d
