A French key-wind gold pocket watch and case, early to mid 19th century. The movement signed Mallet, A Paris. Enamel dial with Roman numerals. Domed glass crystal, the bezel with crystal faux diamonds. The opposing side decorated with a hand-painted portrait of a young woman, under glass, crystal faux diamond surround. The pocket watch and case acid test as 18K gold. An additional outer case houses the pocket watch (not gold). Overall, 1-7/8" diameter, .75" deep.CONDITION NOTE: Missing key, not currently running, loop wind missing. Some faux diamond crystals missing. The outer case missing enamel decoration and what may have been seed pearls.
