Description

Title: Folk Art Birdhouse like a 1950´s Ranch Style House

Provenance/Additional Info: This is a nice small birdhouse made in the style of a 1950's ranch house. It is in very good, old condition, with great color, detail, and form. The walls are made from 3/4" pine, while the roof and bottom are 1/4" plywood. The decorative doors and window are from veneer, with small cut pieces and layering of the windows on the garage doors. They have all been painted in great detail. The bottom of the house is held by screws so it can be removed for cleaning. The birdhouse is 11" long by 7" deep, and 5 3/4" to the top of the hanging screw eye. It is likely from the 1970's or so. There was a small "ding" in the back of the roof which has been repaired.
