Description
Mokurei Nakagawa (1919-1979) was a Japanese artist who studied hanga under Mito Kataoka, western style art under Itaru Tanabe in Tokyo Art University in 1935. Along with his own designs, he excelled in making reprints of traditional woodblock prints after W.W.II. The city counsel of Tokyo designated him as "Living National Treasure / intangible cultural heritage" in 1955. This piece is titled, "Snow on a Pagoda". Measures 10.75" x 7.5" with frame.
