Description
World War II-used double-decal Austrian M16 helmet with liner, distinguishable from a German M16 by its higher-up bottom rivet, bearing a swastika shield on the right-hand shell and a borderless polizei decal on the left-hand shell. The interior bears a six-finger leather liner, the reverse of two fingers bearing a badly-faded ink stamps, likely maker's marks. No marks present on the shell itself. The top of the interior dome bears a sticker reading 'Sicherheitswache', which was an armed and uniformed civilian, but military-style guard unit, of the Republic of Austria. The sticker also bears the printed name 'Karl Busek', presumably a previous owner's name. A leather chinstrap is present, though may be a replacement or refinished. Worn to the shell from age and use, though still very good condition.
