The Legendary 1793 Left Facing Half Cent. Manley Die State 2.0, the usually seen state with HALF CENT weak on the reverse. The designer of the Liberty Cap half cent of 1793 is unknown, although various numismatists have floated their favorite nominees over the years. The head faces toward the viewer's left on the obverse, a curiosity that would be altered to face right on all the 1793-dated large cents. This XF Details half cent features mahogany-brown surfaces with lighter chocolate-brown high points. A few dark areas occupy the central reverse, emphasizing the absence of most of the denomination, a function of the 2.0 die state. A nice example of this important one-year type. Pleasing Eye Appeal.
