AN AMERICAN BRILLIANT PERIOD STERLING SILVER MOUNTED CUT CRYSTAL PITCHER, MARKED, NEW YORK, 1890-1915, with a cylindrical scalloped neck of vertical cubed bands divided by triple lines and serrated rows, flaring to a bulbous body with deeply cut sides of stars, strawberry peel, and fans details, adjoining a scalloped "C" form handle beneath a conforming sterling silver mount with an everted spout over a continuous repoussé band of stylized scrolling acanthus, stamped with the Adelphi Silver Plate Co/J. Schimpf & Sons beehive mark over "STERLING 925/1000." Height: 10 3/4" Width: 7 1/2" Depth: 6" Provenance: Collection of Karen Mudd, Woodlands, Texas.
Condition
Good condition with the silver mount having a few tarnish spots and light surface wear, the cut crystal body has some tiny flea bites on edges scattered about and normal wear on underside. The crystal was blacklight lit and fluoresced yellow. Simpson Galleries strongly encourages in-person inspection of items by the bidder.
