CLIVE BARKER (British b. 1940) A DRAWING, "Untitled, Possibly Study for [Two Palettes for Jim Dine]," 1964, graphite on paper, signed and dated in pencil L/R. 22" x 30" Note: This drawing appears to be a study for a 1964 work Clive Barker completed- a transitional work in which he used chrome-plated brass and leather, resembling a series of Jim Dine's works on the same subject of standard artist palettes. The multi-media sculptural work was exhibited in the exhibition "Pop Art: U.S./U.K. Connections 1956-1966" at the Menil Collection, Houston, Texas January 26-May 13, 2001 Curated by Jim Edwards and David Brauer. Provenance: Estate of David E. Brauer, Houston, Texas.
