Description
A FEDERAL FIGURED MAPLE AND MAHOGANY CORNER WASH STAND, EARLY 19TH CENTURY, of two tier bowed triangular form and a two panel backsplash with sloped ends on a later mahogany panel, covering another with one large and two small circular apertures for washbasin and containers within a curved maple front, raised on double ring turned baluster form colonettes on a conforming three short drawer shelf with two mahogany crossbanded faux drawers, flanking a matching central drawer and each centering a circular wheel pressed brass pull, over similar tapering turned legs joined by a crossed stretcher centering an oval mahogany panel and raised on tapering circular supports with ball form feet. Height: 36 1/4" Width: 21 1/4" Depth: 15" Provenance: Estate of Francis E. And Henrietta C. Judson, Wayne, Pennsylvania.
Condition
There are normal marks, scratches, dings, some liquid residue marks, maple veneer loss, and expected surface buildup. The top mahogany panel shelf is later and glued to the original top, faux right drawer on bottom shelf has had maple panel replaced, brass pulls appear original and have polish residue in crevices.
