Edizione veneziana figurata. Quest’opera divenne il testo base per l'insegnamento della chimica nelle università europee, fino agli ultimi decenni del secolo XVIII. Gli Elementa raccolgono le lezioni del grande chimico e medico olandese) all'Università di Leida, ove tenne cattedra a partire dal 1718. Ferguson: “He was the most distinguished teacher of his time, and a man of immense and varied learning... One of his most important works is the treatise of chemistry, which was based on notes of his lectures, but was afterwards revised by himself.”
