Description
Pair of gilt and paint decorated porcelain covered potpourri boxes, in the Meissen style and after a model by Jacob Petit, né Mordecai (French, 1797-1868), with pierced lids and throughout with Chinoiserie elements, the painted panels alternating with scenes of birds and flowers, raised on swan feet, unmarked, the bases with ex-Christie's East labels. 7.75” H x 5.25” W x 5.25” D. Provenance: Removed from a 157 East 57th Street estate.
