This rare award was issued by either the highest of German military officials or even Adolf Hitler himself.
The award was introduced in recognition of highly valuable services performed for the Third Reich by Germans and German Allies.
Frequently, the Knights Cross of the War Merit Cross was given to Intelligence officers whose identity was essential to remain secret or diplomats.
In many respects this award is one of the most desirable among collectors of German WWII military. Selling on consignment.
The item is marked '1' on the bottom and made of 900 silver.
