BAULE, IVORY COAST, AFRICAN, CARVED WOOD WITH PIGMENT, NUDE FEMALE FIGURE MID 20TH CENTURY H 34", W 10", D 9.5" With red, black and green pigments. Ornate head dress, exaggerated ears. Three black bands around stomach. Upper arm cuff on each arm. Cupping breasts. Elongated neck, pierced ears.Provenance: Estate of Jack Faxon, Birmingham, MI. Michigan Senator and creator of the Michigan Council for the Arts.
Condition
Some areas of pigment loss.Some moderate edge wear to the head piece. Overall in good antique condition.
