In 1922, recovering patients in the Apeldoorn sanatorium: Berg en Bosch, involved in occupational therapy, manufactured toys designed by Ko Verzuu.
Sold at fine Amsterdam toy stores, there was great enthusiasm for the toys.
Ko Verzuu (1901-1971) with his technical background designed wooden toys from 1925-1962 for ADO. The characteristic primary colors and straight lines of the toys continue to be in great demand.
