Stained and bentwood armchairs by Lajos Kozma 32" H x 20" D x Seat H 18"This iconic chair is a perfect example of Lajos Kozma Bauhaus inspired designs of the beginning of the 1930s. Kozma was in close contact with Bauhaus and even wrote a monograph about it after WW2. The bentwood back of the chair is typical for his furniture designs of the period. The chair was manufactured by Szék és Faárugyár company in Budapest, which by the end of 1920s became one the main producers of the modernist furniture in Hungary. This chair is extremely rare and of museum quality. Lajos Kozma (June 8th, 1884 - November 26th, 1948) was one of the most authentic representatives of Hungarian Art Nouveau in the early-20th-century. He had an unprecedented influence on the European design through his drawings, buildings and furniture.Chairs were purchased from the shop Bardoni in Budapest
