Description
Late 19th - Early 20th c. English Made Signal Horn & Air Pump by Siebe Gorman & Co. Ltd. London, for use by divers, fire fighters and coal mine workers, this device was originally designed to supply air and later converted to an alarm (for use with other breathing devices), with foot operated leather bellows and brass trumpet horn, mounted on wooden base, top surface with rectangular metal maker's plaque and "Code of Signaling by Means of Life Line" plaque - "1 Tug, More air, 2 Tugs, Less air, 3 Tugs, Help me out", front of wood base stamped '12 51' and '11880', 25 3/4" high, 17 1/4" x 9 3/4". Working condition, horn has solder repairs, surface wear.
