Portia Nelson (American, 1920-2001), Flower merchant with cart, oil on canvas, signed lower left "Portia." Painting depicts buildings in landscape and a woman with flower cart in foreground. The palette is mostly monochromatic in tones of sand and brown with touches of blue. Central to the scene is the woman with the flower cart rendered in vibrant shades of blue, red and yellow. Portia Nelson was an American entertainer, author and artist who was known for her work as cabaret entertainer in the 1950s. Image: 23.5" H x 17.5" W, frame: 31" H x 25" W.
