Capodimonte (Italian, founded 1743). Pair of porcelain vasiform lamps depicting classical scenes of Romulus and Remus suckling the wolf on one side and the birth of Hercules on the opposite, capped by a band depicting variousimplements of war. Marked with appropriately inside foot of porcelain base. On brass and wood base. Approx. h. 20" (to top of socket). Provenance: From the Estate of Jack Warner / The Warner Foundation, Tuscaloosa, AL.

Working when tested; chip to rim of one; no apparent restorations; colors and gilding are strong; minor firing imperfections.
