Description
United States.1981-1982
Original hand sculpted and assembled proving model for the 1982 Hasbro G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero M.O.B.A.T. (Multi-Ordinance Battle Tank) toy vehicle. The tank comes directly from the collection of Bill Araujo, former Director of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering at Hasbro and G.I. Joe brand legend. He recounts personally having to study a real-life MBT-70 tank for inspiration and design cues. This proving model utilized three electric motors compared to the two within the standard production model. The tank now shows wear to the hand painted surface and decals as expected of age and being a prototype. Truly an incredible piece of G.I. Joe history.
