Mahogany chest, pine secondary, with wide cornice above three short over four full length drawers flanked by unusual relief carved winged figural busts, these having rather stern faces and hair in the style of a colonial periwig, skillfully rendered but with a distinct folk art quality. The figures placed atop fluted half columns between twist carved rods with tassels or flames top and bottom. The two flanking small drawers and four lower drawers all with herringbone inlay. All drawers with period "e pluribus unum" brasses with American eagle. The chest is raised on four tall openwork legs. Approx. 64 1/4" H x 46 1/2" W x 18 1/2" D.
