Antique Art nouveau mirror , carved wood simulating bamboo , the art nouveau movement like the art and craft movement used natural design , introducing nature in it vocabulary , furniture and accessories were designed with this motive at the turn of the 19th and early 20th , the mirror has a mercury backing with some light oxidation , giving it a nice patina .Wood backing , the mirror can be used in a landscape or portrait position .Coincidentally there is the same mirror at Monet's home at Giverny near his bedroom ( see attach picture ) , we went during Spring and it was raining which made it even more poetic .
