Description

Title: Rare 30's "The Monument" Quilt

Provenance/Additional Info: Cotton tied hand pieced quilt with the very unusual design known as "The Monument," published in 1890 in an issue of "Ohio Farmer" magazine. It was meant as a memorial pattern, with a space to include a decedent's name. The quilt consists of a turn of the century quilt top finished in the 1930's. It measures 70" X 72" and is in very good condition, with the occasional age spot and two circular blue repairs (see pics). The back and machine stitched binding is a cheery yellow print and the batting is thin.
