Description
Chinese Cloisonne Enamel Gilt Bronze Ritual Bell Bianzhong, Qianlong Mark and Period. Of lenticular form modeled after an archaic bell, surmounted by a slender Gu-form columnar shank flanked by a pair of pierced gilt dragon flanges, the sides with a trapezoidal panel with eighteen bosses arranged in three rows alternating with bands of angular scrolls and decorated with stylized phoenixes, all above two opposing dragon masks, applied with a horizontal rectangular panel incised with a six-character Qianlong mark. Qing Dynasty. {Height: 13 1/4 inches (33.5 cm)}. Condition: Wear, corrosion.
