Condition
Condition: THE FIRST The overall condition is good considering age though the bodice has a split dart in the front lining and splitting under the left arm. There are loose beads at the  neckline and sleeve hems, loose hook and eyes in the front and side closures, and several warped threads throughout, mostly along edges and under left side seam. The skirt has some stressed areas, mostly along the side seams, and there are spots in pink panel at the center front hem. Some holes are noticeable at thigh level at the center front, and the center back waist closure is missing on one side and torn on other. There is some evidence of previous insect activity but nothing currently active. THE SECOND The overall condition is good structurally though some of the feathers are brittle and breaking off, and the left side seam has some discoloration and thread loss. Some of the threaded ring loops on left side seam are loose and the shoulders are slightly discolored.  THE THIRD The overall condition is good though the front left tie closure is missing and there are several soiled spots. The scarf has several soiled areas but intact. THE FOURTH The overall condition is good though there are several wear points throughout, most notably along the neckline and shoulders where the pink satin has worn away. There is a small hole on the right shoulder and general light damage/discoloration on the left shoulder. The metallic thread has darkened throughout with several areas coming detached, notably on the left front, shoulder, and along the upper back. A few of the sewn on mirrors are loose or missing, mostly on the back. The cotton lining has several soiled spots throughout. THE FIFTH The overall condition is good structurally though the satin lining along the neckline has started to shred as well as a couple of smaller splits in the lining body. There are a few spots, mostly on the front lining near the closure. There are several small holes throughout the exterior mainly on the top yoke, collar, and back panels.  Everything is sold 'As Is'. The stated overall condition of the lot is based on the assumption that the wear is consistent with age and use. The absence of any reference to the condition of a lot does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging. All other condition issues are stated above. To request additional working condition photos, please email couturecr@hindmanauctions.com with the lot number. Condition is a matter of opinion of the evaluator and should not be treated as a statement of fact. Clients must review and agree to the Conditions of Sale before participating in an auction.
