Description
The rare Chinese jar/vase so beautifully painted all around with the whole process of the making of silk cloth. from collecting the silk worms, to harvesting the individual threads, looming and dying, coloring, drying and even selling the silk cloth in the traditional methods. The famille rose vase has a wooden cover and a large beautiful stand which is 4.8 inches tall. It is in very good shape with only glaze pitting from bubbles during firing, a stilt mark that may have grown slightly and a missing lid, replaced by a wooden lid.Measures just under 11 inches tall with a 6 inch width at the base and 3 1/2 inch mouth. It is approximately 8 inches at the shoulders.Estimated age 18th- 19th century, Qing Dynasty.
